Perpetual Pirouette

Harnessing Anish Kapoor's Descension as the starting point, this concept explored how jewelry can reflect on the themes of void, depth, and contrast found in Kapoor's work. Designed for ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art, the project considers how a collection could live in their gift shop - extending the visitor experience and aligning with the museums modern, conceptual identity.

The result is a proposal for a cohesive jewellery collection rooted in symbolism, materiality, and motion of Descension. Through visual and brand analysis of ARKEN and its retail space, the collection aims to embody the museum's aesthetic while offering meaningful, wearing reflections of contemporary art.

The collection is made up of 4 pieces, designed in 925 silver to match the balance of premiumness and craftsmanship that ARKEN museum represents in their exhibition and giftshop.

The collection features the "Venn" earrings, "Closed Loop" ring, "Open Loop" ring, and lastly the "Pinch" ring. All pf these pieces are designed with negative space in mind, representing the abyss of Anish Kapoor's Descension.

All of the pieces are made with extruded sterlings silver wire, and polished to a mirror finish, to achieve the reflective properties that highlight both light and dark, echoing the white rips on the surface of the dark water.
